Unknown # 81
This is one of my favorite exhibits in the museum. There are strong clues but no definitive conclusions. Marine ivory. One-piece cap. Closed ivory ferrule. Cut bead. Early date of 1876 on the shield. These clues point me toward Thow of Dundee, however the profile of the drones and other details don't line up. Whoever made them knew their craft. I'm betting they have very deep bells and an incredible sound. The profiles remind me of MacKinnon and MacArthur.
