Examples of Higgin’s work are rare. Francis Higgins was listed off and on in the Edinburgh Directory beginning in 1836 as a hairdresser and bagpipe maker. His son, Francis MacLean Higgins appeared in the same directory in 1871 – 1874 also as a bagpipe maker.
